Games are a source of great entertainment and fun especially for children. Parties for children are incomplete without games because games are something that kids will enjoy anytime. Since there are so many kids together in a party, games should be such that there is maximum involvement on behalf of children.

There are many types of interesting games that can be played while organizing a party. Most of these games are indoor in nature. Some of the common games are listed below.

One of the most common games that children are made to play is to draw the monkey’s tail blindfolded. All the children get to see a monkey’s picture. Later each child is given a pencil and is blindfolded. The child has to draw the monkey’s tail at the right place. The kid who does it correctly is the winner. Another game that can be played is ‘Guess’. In this, a person has to fill a jar with candy. During Christmas parties, one can stick candies to the Christmas tree too. Children should guess as to how many candies are in the jar and write the number on a small piece of paper. The child who guesses the right number, or comes closest, is a winner.

Balloon Race is a game in which the children are put in two teams and each child is given a balloon. Each child has to walk from the starting point to the finish point holding the balloon between his or her knees. Successful completion of this will earn the team one point. If they drop the balloon, it attracts a negative point. When both teams have finished the game is over. The scores can be calculated accordingly and the winning team is chosen.

There is another fun game in which the children line up behind a leader. They then have to follow the leader’s actions. If the leader waves his arms, then all the other children have to do the same. Whoever fails to do so is out of the game. While the music is on, there are many games that can be played with it. All the players move round while the music is playing, when the music stops the players have to stand like statues, anyone who moves, is out. This should be continued until the last survives who becomes the winner. Games like ‘passing the parcel’ and ‘musical chair’ can also be played to the music and such can be quite entertaining as well.
